About Us

Ansuz Poetry is a free to use, digital platform that connects teens across the globe via the power of translation. Our model is based on the well known children's game "telephone," also called "pass it on" with an end goal of generating many translations from one original poem. In doing this, we hope to facilitate the exchange of ideas and to encourage cross-cultural interaction for teens globally. Ansuz, named after the fourth letter of the Germanic Elder Futhark, meant "God," but later expanded to incorporate the meanings of "estuary" and "mouth." This symbol was chosen because it embodies our mission by reflecting the idea of allowing thoughts and ideas to spread and be exchanged, similar to the meeting of fresh and salt water in an estuary.
